Dear Gea Creations lovers,
Here we are, at the last blog of 2020. I am writing this to share my thoughts about the year that is almost over, along with some realistic goals for the next one. Grab your coffee, here we go…
I am not going to talk about Covid-19. We are all aware of how much the pandemic has affected almost every aspect of our lives, to say the least. I am going to leave all the fear out and instead I am bringing the hope in. I am sharing the peaceful thoughts and mentioning all the beautiful moments this year has gifted us.
? What we’ve learned: Everything we know could change in a bit. But was it different before? No. This means that this year has been a perfectly good reminder for all of us not to take anything for granted. Ok, huge cliché but a huge truth as well. Whether it’s a Sunday’s walk with a mint chocolate chip ice-cream on hand, or a birthday celebration, or even a small trip to hometown to spend time with the family, these are the moments that light up our lives and give meaning to our existence.
? How we’ve grown: Pressure makes diamonds and who can argue with that? As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog post, our inner power helps us build boundaries and cope with hard situations. It is ourselves that helps us lift up, so we always have to try and vision the calm after the storm. Eventually when the storm passes will be stronger and more resilient. Maybe completely different as well, but trust me, changes are for good even though we low-key avoid them sometimes…
? Why we’ve loved our small business even more: It’s because of you. You kept us busy, creative, insanely happy and utterly inspired. There is nothing that we would love to do more, but I bet you already knew that. All the love and kindness in your reviews proves that, for us, designing and creating jewelry is a calling. And we will keep fulfilling it.
? Things we are grateful for: For people coming together, worldwide. For all the everyday heroes that saved and keep saving lives. For thinking beyond and above ourselves, and for finding peace and balance inside our challenges. For expressing ourselves through our craft. For all the small treasures in our everyday lives. For listening more and talking less. For our family, our friends, and their health. For the bright future upon us.
? Notes to self for 2021: Remember to keep living in the present, not the past or the future. I wish we start fresh and clean, keeping in mind that all this is a parenthesis, not a setback. To start where we left off, carrying along all the beautiful lessons 2020 taught us, and always be willing to learn more.
I am closing today’s thoughts with the following: “In order to rise from its own ashes, a phoenix must burn”, said Octavia E. Butler.
May we all have a magic 2021!
